Meet Stacey

Stacey Kane never set out to be a photographer.

Her success in the world of photography did not come about by way of textbooks or workshops.  Instead it came from an instinct within and her unique way of anticipating and seeing not only the obvious events happening around her, but also the personalities and emotions driving those moments.

Stacey believes that the most important times are those found in authentic moments.  She takes an editorial approach to photographing weddings, families and children, believing that the images that capture the expressions and moments naturally will be the ones most cherished in the future. An award winning photographer, Stacey has been published in numerous magazines including InStyle Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, People, Grace Ormonde, Elegant Bride, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, The Knot (national), The Knot (Boston) and many other publications.

FAVORITE THINGS

I choose to contract up to 5 weddings a season...no more.  I feel that photographing weddings every weekend creates an 'auto pilot' approach by photographers and that isn't good for anyone.  Each and every wedding is unique and each one should be respected and geniunely and creatively captured.  Shooting such a small number of weddings also allows me to be a full service photographer. I am the photographer and the editor which keeps the style consistent and authentic.

My shooting style is thoughtful, meaningful and unobtrusive.  My editing style is honest and real.  Your images will have a timeless quality to them without unnatural, trendy filters and/or treatments.

Children aren't meant to sit still.  They are curious.  They want to run, jump, climb and play. They want to explore and have adventures. They want to make a mess and be imaginative.  They want to be free...not forced.

They want to be kids.

I won't make them sit still or smile on demand.  Instead, I'll get right on the floor to play with them, capturing the geniune laughter and silliness that defines who they are at that moment in time. The ordinary activities today will be the extraordinary memories you will want to remember tomorrow.   Because real life always wins.
